The colour violet relates to our spiritual connection. But can we have too much of this colour?

Violet is a combination of blue and red and is said to be the highest colour in the visible spectrum. It is a cool colour that helps to calm us down and it can open doors to inner wisdom and self knowledge. Violet can also bring a powerful transformation to higher states of consciousness, and it stimulates our emotions and intuition. It can even increase a person’s ability to be clairvoyant, clairaudient or clairsentient and is the perfect colour to work with in meditation as it assists with a connection to the highest level of our being.

This is a colour that healers work with a lot for transmutation or Alchemy as Violet has the ability to help a person connect and integrate more fully with their higher purpose on the earthly plane. It helps the physical, mental and emotional bodies come into perfect unity and balance. Violet is about absolute trust and surrender.

Violet and the Crown Chakra

Violet or purple relates to the Chakra at the top of the head known as the Crown chakra. Chakras are wheels of energy that keep particular parts of our bodies in balance. The Crown chakra relates to the brain and the endocrine and pineal gland. There are 7 basic chakras in the human body from the base of the spine to the top of the head. The Crown chakra is considered to be the most closely connected to our spiritual life.

An Esoteric Understanding of Violet

Saint Germain is considered to be the Master of the Violet Ray for his service in understanding Universal Law. Violet is also often worn as a colour by those who are in service to the masses as spiritual leaders such as Priests, Queens and Kings and we even see this colour used in medals, e.g. the Purple Heart, and with formal organisations such as The Order of the Royal Purple to acknowledge a level of service or spiritual leadership.

Violet can bring closure to earthly issues and an opening up of a greater wisdom and sense of why we are here with a greater connection to the Etheric body.

Off with the Pixies

People who are strongly attracted to Violet are often those who are spiritual seekers hungry for a sense of why they are on the earth plane. They can be idealists who may feel they don’t belong on the earth and want to be elsewhere in a more perfect and heavenly place. Although the violet colour can give them a greater sense of their connection to spiritual things, too much of this colour can create a lack of grounding and encourage an impractical nature, with little connection to reality or earthly things.

An imbalance of the colour violet can also bring a feeling of superiority, a flaunting of power, little consideration of other people or an over indulgence in mysticism to the point of having little contact with reality. It can also create too much of a pre-occupation with the self with not enough action to bring any real change. Sometimes an imbalance of this colour can result in a kind of martyrdom state and an escapist kind of mentality which can sometimes lead to indulgence in drugs and alcohol.

How Violet Can Help the Physical Body

The colour violet can also be greatly beneficial to the human body when in proper balance. It can help women suffering from menopausal symptoms, it relaxes the lymphatic system, soothes the solar plexus, is good for the spleen, can build leucocytes and even neutralises mercury from fillings in the teeth. And being such a calming colour any physical conditions relating to stress such as strokes and heart problems may benefit from the use of this colour.

Violet Flowers

Lavender is a flower that is known to have sedative properties. Not only is the colour soothing but its aroma is calming and uplifting. For people having sleep problems the calming colour violet is good to have around in the bedroom.

It is said that the colour violet in proper balance can bring us to a greater awareness of why we are here, transforming our minds and emotions to operating on a higher level of consciousness so that we have a greater understanding of why we are on the earth plane and what we chose to do as souls before we incarnated into the physical body.

Perhaps this is one reason why Lavender with its delicate violet colour and beautiful calming aroma is seen in so many gardens.
